Virgil Leslie Fox, Sr., 91, of Erie, died April 19, 2018 at Edinboro Manor. He was born in LeBoeuf Township on July 21, 1926, the son of the late Clarence and Nellie Fox.
Virgil served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He worked as a Punch Press Leader at General Electric for many years.
Virgil was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Rae Hawley; brothers Wallace, Delbert, Clarence, Jr., Donald and Larry (Butch) Fox, and one great grandson.
Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Ann (Ferrick) Fox, who he married on March 9, 1984 and has been by his side ever since; a son, Virgil Leslie (Gail) Fox, Jr.; grandchildren, Dale (Linda) Hawley, Tammy (Scott) Hull, Gregory Fox, Christopher (Michelle) Fox, Anthony (Beth) Fox; 4 brothers, Paul (Susie), Richard (Eleanor), Robert (Dolores) and Ted Fox; 2 sisters, Betty Showman and Sally (Lyle) Hayes; 3 sisters-in-law, Lorraine, Roselyn and Kazzy; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Wednesday, April 25 from 2 to 8 p.m. A service will be held there on Thursday at 11:00 a.m.
