Thomas R. Zimmer, aka "Seymour", "Zip", "Big Curly", 73 of Edinboro, PA, passed away suddenly on Nov. 7, 2024. He was born in Erie, PA on July 30, 1951, the son of the late C. Ray and Joanne Zimmer. He is also preceded in death by his youngest sister, Diane L. Clark.
Tom was a graduate of General McLane, Class of 1970. He worked for Woods Dairy, Western Auto and PennDot, and went on to work for GTE/Verizon for 30 years, retiring in 2005. He also volunteered with the Edinboro Fire Department for 13 years.
He enjoyed being the life of the party, socializing with friends, and making everyone laugh. He was a longtime fan of the rodeo, watching westerns, maintaining his beautiful country property and keeping his trucks and tractors in impeccable condition. He was always willing to help a friend or neighbor with whatever they needed and usually received payment in the form of a red raspberry pie. He spent many summers traveling to Colorado to visit his two daughters, as well as taking in the sights all along the front range of the Rocky Mountains.
He is survived by his life partner of 39 years, Karen Hedderick of Edinboro; his two daughters, Jodie Zimmer of Edinboro and Jaimie Zimmer of Denver, CO; his middle sister, Judy Zimmer of Parksley, VA; his nephew Clark (Anne) Deringer and their three children, Gus, Addie, and Moe of Columbus, OH; his niece Heather (Mark) Rudolph and their two children, Joanie and Oliver of Columbus OH; and his nephew, Logan Clark of Los Angeles, CA.
Per his wishes, the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. is entrusted with his cremation and there will be no viewing or formal church services.
Family and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Crossroads Dinor, 101 West Plum St., Edinboro, PA from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
