Thomas J. Stempka, 78 of McKean, died Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Edinboro Manor. He was born in Erie on Nov. 29, 1944, the son of the late Joseph and Martha Stempka.
Thomas graduated from Ft. LeBoeuf High School in Waterford. He worked as a mechanic at the Gary Miller auto dealership in Erie for 35 years.
His passion was trap shooting and he loved to be out at the gun ranges whenever he was able to. He was a member of the Gem City, Erie County and Bay City gun clubs.
He was preceded in death by a wife, Janet; a sister, Marlene Luceas and two brothers, Joseph and Robert Stempka.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Suzanne; two sons, Matthew (Kathy) Stempka and Christopher Stempka, all of Waterford; a daughter, Lisa (Thaddeus) Moore of Erie, and two step-daughters, Shari (Robert) Marston of New Hampshire and Rebecca (Michael) Zanette of Nazareth, PA; also a sister; Mary Brumagin; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 2 to 4 p.m. followed by a short funeral service.
