EDINBORO – Ruth Peterson Hayes, 83, of Morriston, Fla, formerly of Edinboro, died day, March 6, 2011. She was born on September 7, 1927, daughter of the late Walter and Hazel Peterson.
Ruth was a homemaker and enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. She married Perry C. Hayes on April 5, 1947.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Perry C. Hayes on September 2, 2004, and her sister Janet Schadler.
Survivors include her six children; Craig Hayes (Karen) of Edinboro; Connie Grygier of Houston, TX; Brenda Scott (Dave) of Union City; Brian Hayes (Catherine) of Ocala, Fla; Lois Hornaman, of Morriston, Fla; Keith Hayes (Lynda) of Anthony, Fla; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also her sisters, Zelma Loop (Bob) of Edinboro; Carol Christensen (Bob) of Port Allegheny; Marty Taylor (Ed), of Salem, OR; brother Larry Peterson of Saegertown; Sisters-in-law; Janet Hayes, Pearl Hotchkiss (Paul) of Edinboro.
A memorial service will be held on May 1, 2011, at Edinboro United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lisa Grant officiating.
