Russell LeRoy Peters, 81, of McKean, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in Edinboro, on Sept. 20, 1935, son of the late Raymond and Jeanette Peters.
He belonged to the American Legion Post #742 in Fairview, the Edinboro/McKean VFW #740, and a lifetime Member at the St. Francis Ushers Club and the Sunflower Club.
He was drafted into the US Army during Korea as a Truck Vehicle Mechanic.
He worked as a machinist for Fairview Manufacturing for 35 years before retiring.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles and Roger Peters.
Survivors include wife of 61 years, Shirley Peters; 3 daughters, Joyce Peters of Erie, Sue (Rick) Gray of Edinboro, and Cyndi (Ron) Valimont of Cambridge Springs; two sisters, Janet Wilson and Shirley Braddock; a brother; Duane Peters; also, 5 grandchildren, Dustin and Melissa Gray, Natasha Tucci, Danielle Pifer, and Destiny Valimont; and 4 great-grandchildren, Kadyn, Haily, Audri and Parker.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Friday, Feb. 24, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Priestap officiating.
