Roy Smith passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the Soldiers' and Sailors' Home. He was born in Wesleyville, PA on February 3, 1928 the son of Clarence Ellsworth and Bernice Hattie Smith.
Roy served honorably in the U.S. Army in the 28th Infantry Division during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Tom Mix Rangers, Sinnemahoning PA, and loved to hunt and fish.
He was employed at Union Ice Company, Majestic Bakery, Marx Toys, and retired from Hammermill Paper Company after 44 years as a Maintenance Technician.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Jean Smith in 2007; second wife, Joan Smith in 2009; sisters Alice Freedline, Mary Grahn and a daughter, Beverly Wisniewski.
Survivors include two daughters Mary Lou (George) Gorny and Debra (Michael) Satloff; two sons Brian Smith and Michael (Dee) Smith; brothers; Bert (Judy) Smith; Paul (Sally) Smith and sister Iva Daire. 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dennis Chludzinski officiating.
