Rose Mary Smisko Habas, age 62, of Girard, passed away on December 31, 2015 at home, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Erie on January 28, 1953, the daughter of Charles and Gladys Smisko.
Rose Mary graduated from General McLane High School with the class of 1970. Rose Mary lit up the room with her smile and loved her family, grand-babies and nieces and nephews to the moon and back. Rose worked for JET 24 News for 27 years and later for Republic Parking at the Erie Airport. She was a member of the Fairview American Legion Post 742, the Girard American Legion Post 494 and St. Francis Ushers Club, McKean.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Sargent, and a brother-in-law, Bob Milovanovich.
She will be greatly missed by her father; two sisters, Theresa Welsh of Springboro and Ruth “Babe” Mason and her husband, Chris, of Edinboro; a brother, Charles “Chip” Smisko and his fiancée, Julie Tognoli of Catasauqua, PA; her boyfriend, Howard “Butch” Grimshaw and her “special” daughter, Kimberly Ardillo, her husband, John, and two grandchildren, Branden and Delaney; nieces and nephews, Geoff Welsh and wife Amy, Kenneth Mason, Justin Mason, Caitlyn Smisko and Courtney Smisko; and a great niece, Rylee Welsh.
There will be no funeral service or calling hours per her request.
