Ronald Emil Zatek, Sr.
NORTH EAST – Ronald Emil Zatek, Sr., 62, of North East, died Sunday, May 8, 2011, at 12:20 a.m., at Pleasant Ridge Manor West. He was born in Pittsburgh on July 1, 1948. Son of Louis Szuch and the late Lilian Wetzel Szuch.
Ron proudly served the United States for 27 years as a member of the National Guard 112th Infantry, where he was a Sergeant First Class E-7.
After graduating from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Archeology and History he worked as a lab technician. Ron was an active member of the American Legion, N.R.A. And VFW.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lilian Szuch and sister Anna Szuch.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 29 years, Darla Kay Lender Zatek, of North East; his son, Ronald Emil Zatek, Jr. and his wife Kelsey Zatek of North East; two daughters, Tonya Marie Meeder of Erie and Kimberly Ann Ardillo and her husband John of Ohio, brother, Alan Zatek of Pittsburgh; sister Cathy Szuch of Pittsburgh, and nine grandchildren that Ron cherished; James Wilson and Kris James Zatek, Kayla and Andrew Meeder, Tori, Gabby and Emmalyn Stetson, and Brandon and Delaney Habas.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Monday, May 16, from 2 p.m. until the time of the Military Service at 4:00 p.m..
