Robert E. "Giz" Rodgers

Robert E. “Giz” Rodgers, 89 of Cambridge Springs, PA, died Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at VAMC Erie. He was born in Cambridge Springs on March 19, 1935, the son of the late Clarence and Lillian Rodgers.

 He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a press operator at Lord Corp.

 He loved to watch NASCAR and football. He also loved to ride around Cambridge Springs talking and socializing. 

 Giz was a lifetime member of the James D. Bowers VFW Post #169 in Venango, and also a member of the Edinboro/McKean VFW Post #740 and American Legion Post 381, Cambridge Springs. 

 He was preceded in death by a son, Robert E. Rodgers, Jr. and several brothers and sisters.

 Survivors include his son, Mark Rodgers of Cambridge Springs, PA; a daughter, Lisa (Keith) Schleig of Sunbury, PA; a brother, Donald (Rita) Rodgers of Cambridge Springs; a sister, Charlotte Griffith of KY; also 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.

 Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie St, Edinboro, on Tuesday, July, 16, 2024 from 5 to 7 pm. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the James D. Bowers VFW Post #169, 20628 Gospel Hill Rd, Venango, PA 16440 or the American Legion Post 381, Cambridge Springs (www.legion.org).
