Rita Reed

Rita J. Reed, 64, of Meadville, died Sunday, October 2, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in Meadville, Pa on Jan. 16, 1952, the daughter of the late Alton and Lydia (Plavisity) Throop, Sr.

Rita enjoyed cooking, crocheting, painting, and was very creative. She also collected snowmen.

She worked at the Edinboro Manor for 32 years, as a housekeeper.

She was preceded in death by an infant son; Christopher, and a brother; Alton Throop, Jr..

Survivors include her husband, of 22 years, Charles; a daughter, Robin Reed; a brother Terry (Sandy) Throop; a step-sister, Cathy (Jeff) Gillespie; also several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 3pm to the time of the service at 5pm with Rev. Brian Riddle officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
