Richard Burton Warnshuis, 68, of Erie, formerly of Edinboro went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at his home. He was born in Erie, on August 21, 1946, the son of the late Burton and Jean Warnshuis.
Dick spent most of his life in Edinboro, where he was a dairy farmer for many years and taught math at General McLane High School for 6 years. He was a Director of Bethany Camp in Sinclairville, NY and was a counselor at Freedom Village's home for troubled teens in Lakemont, NY.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Thompson Terhune in 2011.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Linda M. Scouten Warshuis; three sons, Mark Warnshuis and his wife, Cheryl, of Erie, John Warnshuis and his wife, Jeanette, of Michigan and James Warnshuis and his wife, Jill, of Georgia; two sisters, Linda and Kay Warnshuis both of Florida; also 13 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Garden Heights Baptist Church, 4224 McClelland Ave., Erie, on Thursday, March 12th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m and Friday from 2 pm until the time of a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
