Rebecca L. Keener, 68 of Union City, died Friday, May 31, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in Titusville, PA on July 20, 1955, the daughter of the late Clyde and Violet Frantz.
Rebecca graduated from Maplewood High School. Prior to her retirement, she had worked for Erie Plastics and Viking Plastics. She enjoyed taking trips with her friends, going to the casino and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a strong willed woman who fought to her last breath.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Frantz, Sr.; 3 sisters, Sally Simmerman, Susan Bartholomew and Terri Hanby; a grandson, Easton Keener; and great grandsons, Asher Silvis and Seth Lacoste, Jr.
Survivors include her son, Michael (Emma) Keener of Wattsburgh; 2 daughters, Julie (Ken) Kerstetter of Union City and Ann Keener Showalter (Bryan Smith) of Warren, PA; 2 brothers, Daniel (Charla) Frantz and Ron (Mary) Frantz; 15 grandchildren, Christina (Ben Fritz) Kerstetter, Kenneth (Madisyn Schaefer) Kerstetter III, Kimberly (Corey) Wise, Keysha Eliason, Michael Keener Jr, Alexis Keener, Hannah Keener, Nova Keener, Layla Keener, Kolt Keener, Diesel Troutman, Samantha (Kameron Beeman) Barnes, Macoy (Kiera) Keener, Eric Showalter Jr, and Ethan Showalter; 11 great-grandchildren, Mylah Sanford, Braeden Kerstetter, Kennley Kerstetter, Oaklee Keener, Asher Keener, Remington Fritz, Riverlynn Fritz, Walker Fritz, Declyn Wise, Haislynn Wise and Brysen Eliason; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 22, 2024 from 3 – 8 pm at 15 Perry St., Union City, PA. The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in entrusted with funeral arrangements.
