Raymond Adam Glaser, Jr., of Edinboro, formerly of Pittsburgh, died on his 95th birthday, Friday, December 12, 2014, at Edinboro Manor. He was born in Pittsburgh, on December 12, 1919, the son of the late Raymond and Jean (Pritchard) Glaser.
Ray was a proud US Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII. He was past commander and service officer of the Edinboro American Legion Post #439.
He worked as a bus driver for the Pittsburgh Port Authority Transit Co for more than 35 years. He was one of the few bus drivers that did sightseeing and chartered tours of Pittsburgh. Ray was involved in many organizations in the Edinboro and Erie area including, the Jolly Jesters, the City Mission, WQLN, the Masons, the Red Cross, the Coachman's Camping Group and the Masonic Camping Group Corn Planter Chapter #36.
Survivors include a daughter, Earleen Glaser, of Erie, and a sister, Virginia Glaser of Pittsburgh.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Karen Lundwall officiating.
Burial will be in Edinboro Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be made to the Edinboro American Legion Post #439 Building Fund, 200 Fairway Drive, Edinboro, PA 16412, or the Erie City Mission, PO Box 407, Erie, PA 16512.
