Phyllis Vatter

Phyllis E. Vatter, 93, of Edinboro, formerly of Lakewood, Ohio, died at home on Sunday, January 14, 2018. She was born in Edinboro, on August 12, 1924, the daughter of the late Albert and Iva Vatter.
Phyllis graduated from Edinboro High School and attended Edinboro State Normal School, Fenn College and Cleveland State University. During her years in Lakewood, she was employed by Harvest Publishing Company, Fewsmith Advertising and The Cleveland Plain Dealer. She had also worked for the Erie Daily Times and Erie Dispatch Herald.
Phyllis was a member of press clubs in both Erie and Cleveland. She was also a member of Young Democrats, Basebelles and Yahoo Clubs, all of Cleveland, and was active in the Project 60 Group at Cleveland State University.
She traveled considerably throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
Phyllis is survived by a sister, Shirley McKay, of Edinboro.
