Phyllis Vernette Stafford, 92, of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, at her residence. She was born in Edinboro on Dec. 20, 1923, the daughter of the late Raymond and Alice (Millspaw) Hotchkiss.
She worked as a bank teller and loan officer for First National Bank of Edinboro.
She was a member of the Edinboro United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing, helping with dinners and was an administrative helper. She also was a member of the Shadbush Club.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter Stafford; a brother, Paul Hotchkiss; a sister in law, Pearl Hotchkiss; and a nephew, John Hotchkiss.
Survivors include her 3 step-sons: Daniel, Herbert, and James Stafford; a step-daughter: Marilyn Staffford; nieces: Carol (Frank) Jara, Marla Broyles, and Sandra (Mark) Sterling; nephews David (Annette) Hotchkiss, and James Hotchkiss; also many grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Edinboro United Methodist Church, 113 High St., Edinboro, from 2 pm until the time of a funeral service at 4 pm, with Rev. Ted Cole officiating.
The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
