Phyllis S. Black

Phyllis Shirley Black, 88 of McKean, died Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Edinboro Manor.  She was born in Denver, CO on January 24, 1935, the daughter of the late Harold and Mildred Hulings.

Shortly after graduating from Corry High School in 1953, Phyllis married her high school sweetheart, Robert Black, who preceded her in death on February 22, 2023 after 69 years of marriage. 

Phyllis was full of fun and energy and loved a great party.  She loved to cook for family and friends and celebrated every holiday and birthday she could with them. She enjoyed Bingo, as well as knitting and crocheting. She was also passionate about reading, especially Old West stories.

Prior to retirement, Phyllis worked for Niagara Plastics on Route 99 and also for CVS in Edinboro where she was a pharmacy tech.

Survivors include her children, Kathleen (Chris) Black-Dunn of Oklahoma City, OK, Steven (Getta) Black of Lake City, PA, Michael Black of Girard, PA, and Kristine (Leslie) Black- Horn of Edinboro, PA; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

In accordance to her wishes, no services will be held.

The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
