Philip James Remek, 50, of Hillside, New Jersey, formerly of Edinboro, died at home on October 29, 2017. He was born in Erie on February 13, 1967, the son of Mildred (McLaughlin) Remek and the late Anthony “Tony” Remek.
Philip graduated Salutatorian from Northwestern High School in Albion. He went on to study Law for a short time at the University of California at Berkley. He later moved to Florida to be near his brother, and worked as a Minister of Music in various churches. Eventually, he was accepted at the University of Chicago - Booth School of Business, where he graduated with honors.
He worked in finance at Union Bank of Switzerland in New York City.
Philip loved music. He played piano and organ in the churches he served. He also had a beautiful voice and a wonderful personality.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, Dr. Robert (Mary Jo) Remek of Florida.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 3 to 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 6, 2017 at 12 pm at St. Philip Catholic Church in Crossingville.
