Peggy Jean Griffin, 71, of McKean, died Friday, April 23, 2021 at her home. She was born in Erie on June 2, 1949, the daughter of the late Glenn and Edna Hough.
Peggy was a 1967 graduate of Strong Vincent High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Southern Missionary College (now Southern Adventist University) graduating in 1971. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Edinboro University.
She worked as a unit secretary at St. Vincent Hospital for more than 45 years.
Peggy loved crocheting afghans, spending time with her animals and especially spending time with her family and her adopted family, the Taylor's. She was always up for a road trip, the longer and faster the better.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eldon R. Griffin in 2003; her sister, Grace Guelcher; her brother, Robert Hough; and a niece, Denise Hough.
Survivors include three nephews, Patrick (Heidi) Guelcher of Erie, Gregory (Laurie) Guelcher of Georgia, and Rob Hough of Erie; two nieces, Michelle (David) Notarangelo of Erie and Beth (Scott) Kowalski of Erie; her adopted family, the Taylor’s; her former-husband, Steven Rohleder; also, great-nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. and at the Church of the Cross, 5901 Millfair Rd., Erie, PA 16415 on Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 10 am until the time of a funeral service at 11 am. As Peggy always said “I’ll see you there!”
