Patricia Gathers

MCKEAN – Patricia Myers Gathers, 72, of McKean died Friday, April 8, 2011 at her home. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on April 5, 1939, daughter of the late Paul and Iris Hinshaw Myers.
Patricia received her early musical training from Arthur Jordan Conservatory of Music in Indianapolis. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in 1961 from DePauw University and did graduate studies and further cello studies with Bernard Greenhouse at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. Pat received her Masters of Science in Education from State University College at Fredonia, N.Y.
Patricia was a former music instructor at Saint Benedict Academy and director of the Chorale and Ensemble. She was also a former member of the faculty of Edinboro State University, and a private teacher of piano and cello.
Pat was also a cellist with the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra, Erie Chamber Orchestra, the Greenville Symphony and the Romanenko Chamber Players. She was a member of the Edinboro Trio and the former music director at the Edinboro United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 15 years, Glen E. Gathers; two daughters, Teresa Sublette Nelson and her husband Jim, and Elizabeth Sublette; her son Bill Sublette; three step sons Kevin Gathers; Mark Gathers; Steven Gathers and his wife Michele; step daughter Janet Gathers; one sister Martha Boruff; two grandchildren James and Olivia Nelson; two step grandchildren, Jarrod and Kyle Gathers, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call at the Edinboro United Methodist Church, Monday, April 11, 2011 from 12 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Lisa Grant officiating.
