Patricia Ann (Young) Alward, 83, recently of Erie, formerly of Edinboro, Cambridge Springs, Rocky Grove and Phoenix, AZ, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015 at Brevillier Village Retirement Center. She was born in Pine Twp., Crawford County, on October 5, 1932, the daughter of the late Klahr and Marion Young.
Patricia was a member of the Redhat Society. She enjoyed gardening and crafts, including; cross-stitching and macrame. Patricia loved going to casinos with her husband and was an extremely experienced Tetris player, beating anyone's score that would challenge her.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Alward in 1998 and a grandson, Jacob Miller in 2007.
Survivors include her loving husband of more than 62 years, Charles Alward; two daughters, Elizabeth Alward and Amy Jo Chaplain and her husband, Brian, all of Erie; two sons, Daniel Alward and his wife, Teresa, of Oil City and Edward Alward and his partner, Denise Miller of Tempe, AZ; two sisters, Lois Wheeler of Linesville and Rita Hayes and her husband, Don, of Edinboro; also five grandchildren, Phyllis Fox, Hank Alward, Tyler Killeen, Meghan Jones and Trent Chaplain; and three great-grandchildren, Dylan Fox, Anjanette DeHaas, and Erin Mietus
No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be held at the Edinboro United Methodist Church, 113 High St., Edinboro, PA on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Shawn Clerkin officiating.
The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Burial of ashes will be in Edinboro Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the ANNA Shelter, 1555 E. 10th St, Erie, PA 16511.
