Nathan Paul Bruno, 52, of Edinboro, PA, was taken away from his many family and friends way too early and very unexpectedly at his home on July 10, 2024.

Born November 4, 1971 and the last of six children of longtime Edinboro residents David L. and Susan W. Bruno, Nate graduated from General McLane High School in 1990 and promptly joined the Army. Following a four-year stint where he was stationed in Nuremberg, Germany during Operation Desert Storm as a Military Police Officer and afterward in Mobile, AL, Nate returned home to attend Edinboro University. He was a voice on the Boro radio station, but found behind the scenes efforts more to his calling. He earned a bachelor's degree in communications, which made perfect sense if you knew his congenial and outgoing personality. During his college years, Nate worked at Edinboro Beverage and he quickly became well-known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and friendliness. He enjoyed his duties and camaraderie there through his last day. As the warehouse manager who came in contact with countless people in the Edinboro community and made acquaintances throughout Erie County, Nate was well-known, even if one only knew him as “The Beer Man.”

Nate loved being in his hometown, but also was a frequent traveler. He enjoyed live music and concerts, skiing, doing projects around the house, managing a fantasy football league, and following the Green Bay Packers.

Nate’s early departure was unfathomable to everyone who knew him. He is survived by his immediate family; his parents Dave and Sue Bruno; and siblings, Tony (Sheila Walmer) Bruno of W. Springfield, PA, Lisa (Steven) Crossett of Brooklyn, NY, Michael Bruno of Oil City, PA, Nick (Anush) Bruno of Edinboro, and Gina Bruno of Edinboro; and the love of his life, Meghan Lininger, and her twin daughters, Olivia and Sophia Lehman. He adored those girls, and together with Meghan, raised them as his own. He and Meghan had a lifetime of plans ahead of them together. Nate is also survived by three nieces, Becky Bruno, Suzanna Bruno, and Teaghan Watkins; three nephews, Davide Bruno, Keller and Owen Watkins; and a great nephew, Trenton Trivoli. He is also survived by his in-laws, David and Rebecca VanAmburg; Sara Watkins and Keith Watkins and his many other relatives who reside in the Pittsburgh area. He will also be missed by his loving pets, Vesta and Declan.

Playful and affable with joyous eyes and laughter, an infectiously wide smile, and an even bigger heart, Nate made the world a better place. Nate loved his family and many friends. He was “one of the good ones.” His loss, like his heart, is irreparable and irreplaceable to us all.
