Morris Mitchell

Morris James Mitchell, 85, of Ivey, GA, formerly of McKean, died Sunday, March 14, 2010. He was born in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, on June 11, 1924; son of the late James Morris and Annie Baxter Mitchell.
Morris was a veteran of the Canadian Royal Air Force. He flew missions in WWII in British Lancaster Bombers. Morris was proud to have worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for many years before his retirement.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing and gardening. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son William Mitchell, brother Jerry Mitchell, grandson J.R. Mitchell and former wife Norma.
Survivors include three sons, John Mitchell (Cathi) of Edinboro; Jerry Mitchell (Dixie) of Statesville, NC; Richard Mitchell (Debra) of Moyak, NC; two daughters, Jackie Machacek (Ed) of Waterford; Nancy Rea (Terry) of Girard; two brothers, Harry Mitchell (Eleanor) of East Aurora, NY; Rich Mitchell of St. Charles, MO; one sister Betty McClacherty of British Columbia, also many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A service will be held at the Draketown Christian Church on Monday at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ron Kennedy officiating.
