Michael Felix Puchacz, 57, of Cambridge Springs, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2014 suddenly at his farm. He was born in Meadville on Jan. 5, 1957, the son of the late Walter and Laura (Styborski) Puchacz.
Michael worked for DH Steel Products in Erie. He was involved in the construction of many buildings in the area. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local 3 Union (formerly 348). Mike was a charter member of the Sons of American Legion Post # 381 in Cambridge Springs. He loved to hunt at the Buckhorn Lodge on the family farm, was a avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and NASCAR fan. Michael was able to be doing what he loved, most of all, which was working on the farm until his last day.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Puchacz, Jr.
Survivors include a spouse, Pauline Puchacz of Meadville; two brothers, Stanley Puchacz, of Edinboro, and Steve Puchacz and his wife, Kimberly of Waterloo, NY; two sisters, Barbara Zabady and her husband, Harold of Camp Hill, PA and Maggie Herbstritt and her husband, Dale of Winston Salem, NC; sister in law, Mary Lou Puchacz, of Meadville; ten nieces and nephews, Brian Puchacz, Kelly Puchacz, Stephanie Sherman, Julie Farley, Jason Zabady, Jordan Zabady Jennifer Zimmerman, Lauren Herbstritt, Natalie Herbstritt and Matthew Herbstritt and six great nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held there on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Cambridge Springs, at 11:00 a.m., with Father David Poulson officiating.
Burial will be in Cambridge Springs Cemetery.
