EDINBORO – Michael John Piper, 65, of Edinboro, died Wednesday, September 29, 2010. He was born in Erie on March 8, 1945. Son of Margaret Meyn Piper Penna and the late John Hurley Piper.
Mike worked for his families business, Erie Bronze and Aluminum since he was 13, and continued his devoted work after the business was sold and then retired in 2007. He was a member of the VFW Post 740 and the American Legion in Fairview. Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his wife Rose Piper in 1998.
Survivors include his daughters, Michelle Brown of Girard; and Katie Piper of Erie; step son John Milosich of Washington, D.C.; and step daughter Lisa Fader of New York City, NY; his sister, Barbara Lynch of Fairview, PA; and his six beloved grandchildren, Matthew and Rebecca Brown, Emily Clark, Jacob and Justin Jones and Michael Fader.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Sunday, from, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A service will be held there on Monday at 11:00 a.m..
