Mary Stafford, 98, of Edinboro, went to be with her Lord suddenly on Friday, March 6, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born on December 25, 1916 in Bridgeport, CT the daughter of the late John and Mary Mishko.
Mary worked at Edinboro University for 25 years and retired to spend time with her husband. They enjoyed going to sales and taking short day trips. She was a member of Draketown Christian Church since September 1954 and taught the Adult Sunday School Class for many years. She cooked Sunday dinner for over 50 years for her family.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Willie; a son, Arthur Victor (Butch) Stafford; a son-in-law, Ray Humes; and a great-grandson, Zachary.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Alice (Jim) Hefner of Erie, and Arlene Humes of McKean; one son, James (Linda) Stafford of Waterford; 9 grandchildren, Jane (Rusty) Davis, Sally (Richard) Davis, Janet McBroom, John Hefner, Larry Hefner, Shelly (Andy) Keil, Sarah (Eric) Peters, Sandra (Ray) Brown and Rick Humes; 13 great-grandchildren, Lindsey, T.J., Crystal, Ginny, Tammy, Nicole, Cole, Gabby, Hannah, Emily, Drake, Amanda and Tiffany; and 9 great great-grandchildren, Jason, Donovan, Joey, Mary, Justin, Isaiah, Brooklyn, Noah, and Chase.
No services or calling hours will be held per her request.
