Marie I. Helmbreck, 80, of Edinboro, died Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Edinboro Manor. She was born in Edinboro on January 2, 1941, the daughter of the late Paul and O. Irene Campbell.
Marie was a descendant of the first legal homesteader in Edinboro, and was a lifelong resident there. She worked many years at Culbertson Hills Golf Club’s Half-Way-Shack and as a bartender at The Empty Keg. Marie was a long-time supporter of the AH Club of Edinboro. Throughout her active life she enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. One of her most favorite activities was traveling the country with her husband, Don, visiting friends and family and seeing new places.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Helmbreck, in 2013; a sister, Ann Mickle; and six brothers, Lewis, Eugene, Jack, Robert, Frank and Arthur Campbell.
Survivors include a son, Wayne Helmbreck, of Edinboro; a grandson, Wyatt Helmbreck of South Carolina; a sister, Genny Eichols of Arizona; five brothers, Lawrence, Paul and William Campbell of Florida, Jerry and George Campbell of Edinboro; and many, many, many nieces and nephews.
No services will be held at this time.
