Margaret Huya Szymanowski, 94, of McKean, died peacefully Sunday, June 18, 2017 with her loving children at her side. She was born in Crossingville on April 23, 1923, the daughter of the late Ignatius and Anna Marcinek Huya.
Margaret worked at the Lord Corporation for two years and was a homemaker and dairy farmer. She enjoyed baking, playing cards with her friends, playing bingo and going to the casino.
She was an avid bowler for over 40 years, winning several trophies. Margaret was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in McKean since 1944 upon her marriage and movement to McKean. She was part of the Rosary Auxiliary, a life member of the McKean Ushers Club, and a member of the Siebenbuerger Club.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Victor of 65 years in 2008; an infant daughter, Geraldine; five brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include her loving children: Regina Yeakel, of Waterford; Victoria (Tom) Coffin of Waterford; Paul Szymanowski of McKean; Cheryl (Larry) Hanas of Waterford; also 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 8880 Main St., McKean, PA 16426 on Friday from 10 am to the time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m..
The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Burial will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family c/o Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, 210 Erie St., Edinboro, PA 16412.
