Lillian Lucy Huttlin, 94, of Meadville, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016 at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on Dec. 13, 1921, the daughter of the late Joseph M. and Sophie Rhein.
Lillian married her loving husband, Frank L. Huttlin, in 1945. She worked for South Euclid Lyndhurst Public Schools as a secretary; moved to Manahawkin, New Jersey where she worked as a veterinary secretary for several years. Most importantly, Lillian was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, but her favorite destinations were to visit her family. In her later years, she moved to Edinboro to be near her daughter, Mary Lu, and then to Meadville. Lillian enjoyed singing in church and community choirs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; a grandson, Matthew Huttlin; a son-in-law, Ralph Sturm and her two brothers, Edward and Joseph Rhein.
Lillian is survived by three children; Mary Lu Sturm of Meadville, Irene Daly and her husband, Frank, of Ocean Pines, MD, and Paul Huttlin and his wife, Carol, of Powell, OH; six grandchildren, Eric Milles (Melinda), Karen Daly Wynn (John), Kimberly Daly, Cristiane Wolfe (Steven), Katherine Daly, and Sarah Badger (Spencer); seven great-grandchildren, Jordan Wozney, Johnny and Lillian Wynn, Elizabeth and Audrey Badger, and Jacob and Caleb Wolfe; also her sister-in-laws, Augusta Huttlin, Louise Rafferty and Barbara Hertz (Chase).
The family wishes to thank all the personnel at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community and especially those on Cherry Street who cared for Lillian the past two years..
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 10 to 11 am. A prayer service will be held there at 11:00 am. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Lake Church at 11:30 am. with Fr. Daniel Hoffman officiating.
Burial will be in Edinboro Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Recreation Unlimited, 7700 Piper Rd, Ashley, OH 43003 (for youth and adults with disabilities), and because of her great love of her family's pets, to the Crawford County Humane Society.
