Lewis Oliver Campbell, 81, passed away peacefully at home on September 13, 2015. He was born on February 2, 1934 in Union City, son of the late Paul and Olive (Barber) Campbell.
He served in the United States Marine Corp for 14 years in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired from Erie Press Systems in 1996. He was a member of the Erie Crawford Auxiliary Police and the Edinboro/McKean VFW Post 740.
Lewis enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting, reloading, and gunsmithing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dean Campbell as well as three brothers; Jack, Frank, and Arthur Campbell, and a sister Ann Campbell Mickle.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Osterberg Campbell, three sons; Richard Campbell of North Carolina, Thomas (Sherri) Campbell and Kevin (Andrea) Campbell all of Edinboro; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; also, seven brothers; Lawrence Campbell of Florida, Eugene (Claudie) Campbell of Mill Village, Robert Campbell of Edinboro, Paul (Bev) Campbell of Texas, George Campbell of Edinboro, William Campbell of Florida, Jerry Campbell of Edinboro; and two sisters Marie Helmbreck of Edinboro, and Genevieve Echols of Arizona.
Friends may gather at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Sterrettania Cemetery, West Rd, McKean, on Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
