Lawrence Edward “Larry” Didion, 92, of Edinboro died Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Meadville Medical Center. He was born in Erie on September 21, 1925, the son of the late William and Mary (Herman) Didion.
Larry had a distinguished 24 year military career that spanned 3 wars; WWII, Vietnam and Korea; serving with both U.S. Army and Navy forces.
After he retired from the military, he worked as a roofer alongside his brother, Roy, and was also employed by the Fairview School District for 10 years.
Larry had many interests throughout his life, including gardening and raising livestock. He loved to fish, golf and bowl, and enjoyed watching sports and the Western channel. He especially loved the NY Yankees, NY Giants, and Buffalo Bills.
He was a lifelong member of St. Philip Catholic Church in Crossingville.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Julia, in 2000.
Survivors include his son, Gary Didion of Edinboro; a brother, Roy (Anna Mae) Didion; two sisters, Lois Williams and Nancy Didion; and one granddaughter, Amber Didion-Wolfe.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church, 25797 Rt. 98, Edinboro, PA 16412.
