Laura Puchacz

Laura A. Styborski Puchacz, 88, of Cambridge Springs, died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Meadville Medical Center.  She was born in Ambridge, PA on May 28, 1925.  Daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Sydluk Styborski.
She was a member at St. Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church in Cambridge Springs, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and a Eucharistic Minister.  Laura was also a past president of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #381 and a member of the VFW Post #169; she was a lifetime member of both organizations.  She was also a PNA member. She worked at Carnation Can Division, Elgin Lab, and was proud to own Walt & Laura's Restaurant with her husband Walter M. Puchacz, and she owned and operated the Freeze King Dairy Isle in Cambridge Springs.  Laura enjoyed cooking and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter M. Puchacz, in 2007 and her son, Walter Puchacz, Jr., her brothers, John, Frank, Edward and Joseph Styborski, and sisters, Jane Mott, Liz Basile and Helen Sherred.
Survivors include her three sons, Stanley Puchacz, of Edinboro; Michael Puchacz and his wife, Pauline of Cambridge Springs; and Steve Puchacz and his wife, Kimberly of Waterloo, NY; two daughters, Barbara Zabady and her husband, Harold of Camp Hill, PA and Margaret Herbstritt and her husband, Dale of Winston Salem, NC; a daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Puchacz of Meadville, her sister Veronica Moscorelli, of Ashtabula, OH; ten grandchildren, Brian Puchacz, Kelly Puchacz, Stephanie Sherman, Julie Farley, Jason Zabady, Jordan Zabady Jennifer Zimmerman, Lauren Herbstritt, Natalie Herbstritt and Matthew Herbstritt and six great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Friday from 2 to 4  and 7 to 9 p.m., also there on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of a prayer service at 10:30 a.m..  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Cambridge Springs, at 11:00 a.m., with Father David Poulson officating.
Burial will be in Cambridge Springs Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Four Diamonds Fund for Childhood Cancer (Please Note ZTA), 210 HUB, University Park, PA 16802, or to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 165 Beach St., Cambridge Springs, PA 16403.
