Larry Lee Shelhamer, 74, of Erie, formerly of Edinboro, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, April 08, 2022, at home. He was born in Erie on May 31, 1947, the son of the late Claude and Mary Jane Shelhamer.
Larry was a 1965 graduate of General McLane High School. He loved taking his daily walks with his wife and four-legged companion, Oscar. He also enjoyed gardening, playing cards and spending time with family.
Larry worked for 25 years for the Coca-Cola bottling company. He also worked for Crown Battery and Team Hardinger. After retiring, he kept busy shuttling cars for Interstate Nissan and Mitsubishi.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Timothy Lee; his parents, Claude and Mary Jane; and brother-in-law, Leon Wasielewski.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Nancy Shelhamer; four daughters, Tamela “Tammy” (Chris) Jaswa of Georgia, Toni (Brian) Pugh of Colorado, Tonia (Steve) Barron of Erie, and Terri (Ryan) Law of Minnesota; two sisters, Elda Wasielewski of Waterford and Betty (Richard) Luikart of Edinboro; a brother, Karoll E. “Gene” (Evelyn) Shelhamer of Erie; also 11 grandchildren, Alicia (Brett) McIntyre, Megan (Brandon) White, Kristin “K.P.” (Dave) Vereb, Jessica (Grady) Russell, Cassidy, Brooke, Ryan, Alexis, Evan, Hailey and Aiden; 9 great-grandchildren, and 4 step great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. A funeral service will follow at 3:30 pm.
