K.J. Carroll, age 28, of Montclair (NJ), Phoenix (AZ), and Edinboro, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at home.
He was born on September 16, 1981 in Cold Spring, NY, graduated from Mt. Bachelor Academy, Oregon in 1999 and was currently a sophomore at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania studying social work.
He is survived by Amy (McDonald) and Dan Mulligan (birth mother and husband), Lee & Santiana Eversole (birth father and wife), Kevin and Bonnie Carroll (father and stepmother), and Margit Carroll (mother). He is also survived by his sisters and brothers: Melanie Carroll Morrice, her husband Peter and son Ryan; Sean, Danny and Colleen Mulligan; Tionna, Nekai and Naiche Eversole and Gabriella and Whisper Horseman. He so loved finding his brothers and sisters and becoming a “big brother.”
KJ was a avid sports fan, and an extremely ardent supporter of the NY Giants, the NJ Devils, and his beloved NY Yankees. He loved to skydive and wrote beautiful poetry and lyrics. He was known by his friends and family as being extremely trustworthy and loyal. After graduating from Edinboro, he planned to work with at-risk youth, especially those with drug and alcohol addictions. KJ was a devout Christian whose faith was unwavering; he is now sharing in the happiness of heaven with his deceased family and friends as well as his God. One of his favorite sayings was “Love is a verb.”
Friends are invited to a gathering at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, May 19 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 128 Sunset Drive, Edinboro, followed by a memorial Mass at 4:00 PM.
