Kenneth Joseph Flak, 68, of McKean, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at home. He was born in Erie on May 25, 1943, son of the late Henry and Gladys Bojarski Flak.
Kenneth proudly served in the U.S. Air Force obtaining the rank of Airman 1st Class.
He was a member of the St. Francis Ushers Club where he served on the board of directors, the American Legion Post #285, in Waterford, the Retiree Association of G.E., and the Quarter Century Club of G.E.. He worked as an electrical tester for G.E. for 34 years. Kenneth also volunteered at the Angel Food Ministry at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where he was also an usher for many years, he was an avid bowler and most of all, he loved playing accordion for his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Flak.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Shirley Ann Cyparski Flak of McKean; two sons, Kenneth Flak and his wife, Frances, of Edinboro; Michael Flak and his wife, Diane, of McKean; a daughter, Darlene Flak Dennis and her husband, Brian, of McKean; two sisters, Christine Moski and her husband, Bill, of Erie and Sandra Presogna of McKean; also five grandchildren, Brandon, Kristina, Benjamin, Abigail, and Jessica Flak.
Friends may call at St. Francis Xavier, 8880 Edinboro Road, McKean, on Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held there on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Mark Nowak officiating. The Glunt Funeral Home, Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
