Kathy Marie Michael, 58, of Edinboro, died Monday, March 5, 2017 at St Vincent Health Center. She was born in Erie, on March 13, 1958, the daughter of the late George and Alma Dovichak.
Kathy, known by many as “Ma”, was always there with a smile, caring ear, or a warm embrace for those in need. She was an avid gardener and nature lover, enjoyed making crafts, and baking, but mostly spending time with her “Sunshine”, her granddaughter, Madelyn Rose. She was previously part owner of Pleasure Golf Course in Edinboro.
She was a 1976 graduate of General McLane High School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters; Carol Grumblatt, Janet Waldemarson, and Shirley Chase.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years; David Michael; a son, Joseph Michael; a granddaughter, Madelyn Rose Michael; two brothers, David (Diane) Squires and James (Lisa) Squires; a sister, Ann (Allan) Heald; a large extended family; and many friends that she considered her family.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A service will be held there on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ron Freeborn officiating.
