Kathleen McGlaughlin, 82 of Edinboro, formerly of Redwood City, CA, passed away at home on Monday, December 2, 2024. She was born in Erie, PA on April 17, 1942, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary McGlaughlin.

Kathy grew up in Edinboro and was a 1960 graduate of General McLane High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Edinboro State College in 1964 and later earned an MBA from Stanford University. She worked as a financial officer for companies that focused on production and technology. 

Kathy had a number of interests, including golf, skiing, gardening, raising monarch butterflies and word games. She was a free spirit, fiercely independent, but was also witty and silly. An amazing mother and grandmother, her grandchildren affectionately called her “Goo Goo”. A math enthusiast, she composed a lullaby about the Pythagorean theorem. She loved her dogs, and looked forward to her walks with them. She found joy in the little things in life. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel McGlaughlin and son-in-law, Buz Keaton. 

Survivors include her son, Bryce Bigwood (Gina Guidi); daughters, Erika Keaton (David Ostheimer), Erin Hanley (Brian) ; brother, Jerry (Mary) McGlaughlin; sister-in-law Patricia McGlaughlin ; 4 grandchildren, Holly, Hannah and Rose Keaton and Brynn Hanley; beloved nieces, nephews and cousins; her goddaughter, Kathy Hayes; and Murphy, the wonder dog.

No services are planned at this time. The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is entrusted with arrangements.
