Judy Mae Skelton, 71, passed away January 4, 2016 at UPMC Hamot, surrounded by her loving family.  Judy was born February 21, 1944.  She was the eldest child of James John and Elena Mae (Billings) Skelton.  Besides her parents she is preceded in death by a brother Brian Skelton (1988), niece Vicki Woods (2006) and a great niece Faith Dzara (2015).

Judy is survived by 2 brothers, 4 sisters, 15 nieces and nephews: Dennis (Helen) Skelton and their children; D.J. (Kelly), Devon (Garrett) Mellin, Dan (Emily), Ryan, Jena; Terry (Trish) Skelton and their children: Samantha, Molly, Clay; Donna (Carl) Smith and their son, Rick (Lynn) Woods; Bobbi (Sonny) Frick and their children, Bill (Cara), Kelly (Keith) Knauff; Woodette (Philip) Sanders and their children, Jennifer (Deke) Showman, Dale (Jessica); Cindy (Philip) Sowry and their children, Alicia (Eric) Furey, Jessica (Mike) Horvath.  There are also 15 great nieces and nephews surviving.

Judy graduated class of 1962 from General McLane High School.  After high school, she attended and graduated from Stratton Business Institute, Buffalo, New York.  She then lived and worked in Buffalo for the next 40 years where she retired from Dunlop (Goodyear) Tire.

After retiring, Judy returned home in 2004 to Edinboro and built her home south of town.  She was extremely involved in the community and treasured her family.  She was very active in the Edinboro Historical Society and the First Baptist Church of Edinboro.  She continuously showed her support for the General McLane School District, attending multiple events, and numerous football games.

As the backbone of her family, Judy, made sure they were all taken care of and loved unconditionally.  She was always where they needed her.

Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro,  on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Edinboro.

Burial will be in Edinboro Cemetery.  Memorials may be made in Judy's honor to the First Baptist Church of Edinboro, 12472  Edinboro Rd., Edinboro, PA 16412.
