John P. "Jake" Yanoshik

John P. “Jake” Yanoshik, Jr., 66 of Edinboro, died Monday, February 10, 2025 at Andover Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born in Hazleton, PA on May 17, 1958, the son of John Yanoshik, Sr. and the late Dorothy Yanoshik. 

 Jake graduated from Hazleton High School in 1976. He worked in security electronics for Southern Steel, Maris Corporation and Stanley Corporation prior to retirement.

In his youth, Jake loved playing baseball and softball. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had a passion for music, as well as vintage and classic muscle cars.

 He attended St. Anthony Catholic Church in Cambridge Springs.

 In addition to his mother, Dorothy, Jake was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Rita Windsor; sister-in-law, Susan Martin; brothers-in-law, Paul Martin and Chuck Hancox; extended family Joyce Christ and Larry Windsor; and several aunts and uncles. 

 Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Kathleen; a son, Rick (Patti) Yanoshik; a grandchild, Christian Yanoshik; a brother, Mark Yanoshik; a sister, Marianne (Rich) Dougherty; his father-in-law, Bill Christ; brother-in-law Mark (Brenda) Christ; sisters-in-law, Beth Hancox and Deb (Ed) LeBarron; Aunt Matzie and many close cousins; and nieces and nephews. 

 No services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A special thank you to Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. for all of their assistance.
