Jean Claude MacLeod, 74, of Edinboro, died Friday, August 14, 2015 at UPMC-Hamot after an 11 month battle with lung and bladder cancer. He was born in Paris, France on Nov. 18, 1940, the son of the late Simone Wekenman.
Jean Claude came to America in 1957 and resided in Angola, NY until moving to Edinboro in 1977. He founded his company, D.C. Power in 1975 and worked until his death. Most of his customers knew him as “Frenchie”. He loved the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Wekenman and a dear cousin, Daniel Meunier of France, who he thought of as a brother.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara (Haenel) MacLeod; four children, Barbara Heim and her husband, David; Michelle Paolella and her husband, John; John MacLeod and his wife, Tina; and Maureen Czerwinski and her companion, Jay Renick; three grandchildren whom he was extremely proud of, Tyler Czerwinski, Alyssa and AJ Paolella; also, his family in France, Paule, Sylvie, Richard, Dylan, Océane, Claude, Christelle, Tristan and Alycée; and his beloved dog, Zoey.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Monday, August 17th, from 1 to 3 p.m.
A private burial will be held in Edinboro Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Regional Cancer Center, 2500 W. 12th Street, Erie, PA 16505. Special Thank You to the nurses at the RCC and 3rd floor South team at UPMC-Hamot.
