Jean Marie Hess Huntley, 87, of Erie, formerly of Edinboro, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at Spring-Hill. She was born in Erie on February 3, 1928, the daughter of the late Edwin Jacob and Alice Frances Thomas Hess.
She graduated from Wattsburg High School, and later attended classes at Edinboro University.
She worked for General Telephone for two years and was employed at the Campus School and University libraries at Edinboro University until her retirement. She was a wonderful mother and friend. She enjoyed bowling, reading, drawing, painting, and volunteering in her spare time.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Alton Huntley of Erie; daughter, Linda Huntley Wills and husband, Garth, of Rockwall, Texas; daughter, Diane Huntley and husband, Charles Freeman, of Lakewood Ranch, Florida; son, Dale Huntley of Erie; sister, Joanne Ramsdell and husband, Roger, of North East; and brother, Thomas Hess and wife Marian, of North East. She loved her five grandchildren, Shane Huntley Wills and wife, Gretchen; Andrew Hudson Wills and wife, Sandra; Tyler Freeman; Lauren Freeman Teague and husband, Brent; and Deric Freeman; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Francis Wills and Mary Grace Wills.
Her memorial service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 128 Sunset Drive, Edinboro, at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Dan Hoffman officiating.
Burial will be in the Edinboro Cemetery.
