James Gillette

James Earl Gillette, 75, of Waterford, died Friday, November 3, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 17, 1942, the son of the late Courtney and Thelma (MacMillan) Gillette.
Prior to his retirement, James worked for J.A. Holtz in Waterford driving fuel trucks. He was a top mechanic and handyman, and enjoyed watching NASCAR.
James served in the U.S. Navy and Army National Guard. He was a past Commander of the Waterford American Legion Post #285 and a member of the Erie/Crawford County Veterans Burial Detail.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Gillette; a sister, Patricia McCray; and an infant brother, William Kenneth Gillette.
Survivors include three daughters; Tammy (Randy) Wright of Waterford, Diane Woods of Erie and Jamie Gillette of Erie; two sisters; Margaret Stearns and Grace Gillette of Edinboro, six grandchildren; Ashley, Kayla, and Brandon Wright, Austin & Kerri Woods and Christina Gillette; also 3 great grandchildren.
The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 6-8 pm at the Waterford American Legion Post #285, 120 W. 4th St., Waterford, PA 16441.
