James R. Frost, 71, of Edinboro, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Erie V.A.M.C.. He was born in Erie on June 17, 1942, son of the late George Frost and Beverly Smith Frost Touwsma. He was the stepson of Charles "Chic" Touwsma.
James graduated from Stong Vincent High School and then entered the U.S. Army, proudly serving during the Vietnam War. Upon returning, he started an industrial sales company, Betlyn Sales Corp., which he ran until his passing. His true passion was training and field-trialing English Pointers. He placed in more than 100 events and won two National Championships. James was also a member of the Erie Maennerchor Club and Saints and Sinners.
Survivors include his son Justin James Frost and his fiancé, Eileen of Edinboro; his daughter Jennifer Averette and her husband Samuel of SC; his wonderful caregiver and best friend, ex-wife Betsy Sawdey Frost; his sister Judith Frost Fiddler of Erie; five grandsons, Sam, Bo, Wade, Jesse and Colt; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A service will be held there on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev.
