James “Jim” Anthony Bavas, died Sunday, November 25, 2012 at home. He was born on November 16, 1946 in Tionesta, PA; Son of the late Nicolas and Marjorie (Vierling) Bavas.
Jim had many hobbies in his life that he was passionate about, which include Model Railroading, fishing, woodworking and tropical fish. He was a member of the Erie Topical Fish Society. Jim worked at Ameridrive in Erie, PA. He proudly served two years of active duty in the United States Army.
Survivors include, his beloved wife of 41 years, Sue Eileen (Freer) Bavas, of Edinboro; his son Lucas Bavas of Ocean City, MD; two daughters, Chelsee Bavas of San Diego, CA; Amanda Emm of Ocean City, MD; two brothers Marc Bavas and his wife Cindy of Hydetown; Dave Bavas and his wife Debbie of Meadville; three sisters, Stephanie Schreck and her husband George of Cambridge Springs; Karen Figgins and her husband Dean of AL; and Nicolette Dancu and her husband John of AZ; also his three cherished grandchildren, Sofia and James August (Gus) Emm; and Isaak Bavas.
