H. Robert Cannell, 89 of Edinboro, died Monday, March 26, 2018 at Edinboro Manor. He was born in Pottstown, PA on July 7, 1928, the son of the late Horace and Stella Cannell.
Retired as zone manager from Sears Roebuck & Co., Bob also proudly served his nation and local communities such as: a medic in the US Army during Korean Conflict, former District Governor of the PA Kiwanis, Pottstown Zions United Church of Christ, Pottstown Jaycees, Elks Club, and recently Edinboro Borough Council, 2 years as Edinboro Mayor.
He proudly played for the Boston Braves as pitcher and loved any sport with a ball.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amy Cannell, and brother, Rodney Cannell.
Survivors include his loving wife of 19 years, Brenda Breon Keeney Cannell; son Bruce (Patty) Cannell of Neptune, NJ; two daughters, Debbie (Chris) Flavin of State College, and Pam (George) Bennett of New Freedom, PA; a stepson, Jamieson (Jennifer) Keeney of Wooster, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Hilary (Joseph) Devlin of Lansdale, PA; 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; and his first wife, Dorothy Cannell.
Friends may gather at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 1 to 4 pm and are invited to attend memorial services there at 4:00 p.m.
