Howard Leroy Brown, 83, of Edinboro, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014 at his home. He was born in Butler, PA on November 25, 1930, the son of the late Elmer and Lauretta Brockway Brown.
Howard worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He worked for numerous companies. He was one of the operators that dug tunnels in Pittsburgh. Howard loved his dogs and his 3 horses. He loved spending time with his family. And loved to run his farm. He was a hard worker, very loving, caring and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed one. He was loved by many people.
He was a member of the US Army during the Korean War. Howard was a member of the Edinboro/McKean VFW Post 740, and the American Legion Post 773 in Millcreek.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a son; William Brown; his brothers; Robert and Eugene and sisters; Wanda, Loretta and Sharon.
Survivors include; two daughters; Kathryn Brinager of Girard, Sandy Craft of Ohio; a son; John Brown of California; five sisters; Alberta Byers of Chicora, Lucille Wetzel of Butler, Mary Johns of Worthington, Betty James of Florida and Sandy Peters of Florida; a brother; Carl Brown of Virginia; a granddaughter; Amanda Brown of Albion; also, two grandsons; Matthew Brown of Erie and Christopher Brinager of Girard; and two great grandsons; Bentley and Jaxon Brown of Albion.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Friday from 2 pm until the time of a funeral service at 5:30 p.m. Military Honors will held directly after the funeral.
