Helen Wanda Jant, 92, formerly of Edinboro, died December 4, 2013 in Georgetown, Indiana. She was born in Erie on May 21, 1921, daughter of the late Anthony and Alice Gadomski Kazmierski.
Helen was a co-owner of Hilltop Oasis Restaurant on Station Rd. in North East, Pa, where she worked for 10 years. She also enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a member of Edinboro Inter-generational Senior Citizens at EUP, and the Edinboro Grange.
She attended Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, in Edinboro and was a past member of the Altar and Rosary Society there.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl H. Jant in 1983; daughter, Marcia Belding (Dick) of Waynesburg, Pa; two brothers, Stanley and Joseph Cackowski, one sister, Virginia Zenar,
Survivors include one daughter, Juanita Frederick and her husband, Dean, of Powhatan, Va, one son, Keith Jant & his wife, Kathy, of Jeffersonville, In.; one brother, Raymond Kazmierski of Stuart, Fl; two sisters, Freda Campbell (Louis) and Joan Kazmierski, both of Kent, OH; also 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
No calling hours will be observed. A memorial mass will be held at the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 128 Sunset Drive, Edinboro, on Saturday, August 23, at 11:00 a.m.
