Harriet “Suzy” Swalley Loomis, 91, of Edinboro died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the Edinboro Manor. She was born in Girard, on September 3, 1918, the daughter of the late J. E. and Mary Iola Kreider Swalley.
Mrs. Loomis worked as a cook at Tracy Elementry School for three years and Edinboro Conference Grounds for fifteen years. She also worked at Marx Toys for two years, and Rusterholtz Bakery in Erie for four years. She was also a nurses aide at Sara Reed Home for two years. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at the First Alliance Church Of Erie.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Iola Fogleboch, Mildred Morey and Kathryn Waidley; and four brothers, William, Robert, George and Richard Swalley.
Survivors include her loving husband of 72 years, Raymond A. Loomis; two daughters, Nada Bisbee and her husband Allen, of Akron, OH, and Faye Gray and her husband Ronald, of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Larry Loomis and his wife Mary Lou of Salem, OR and Timothy Loomis and his wife Mary, of Byesville, OH; 7 grandchildren, LouAnn Wagner, Larry Loomis Jr., Caryl Waller, Daniel Bisbee, Darlene Risjan, Patrick Gray, and Michael Loomis; also 9 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro. A service will be held there on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rick Crocker officiating.
