SWARTHMORE – Harold A. Bedwell, 79, of Swarthmore, PA, died Monday, September 6, 2010 at the Erie VA Medical Center.  He was born in Ridley Park, PA, on December 12, 1930.  Son of the late Curtis and Mavis Bedwell.
Harold's talents were many, most recently he and Anne retired from owning and managing the Catfish Inn Family Restaurant for 26 years in West Tawakoni, TX.  He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for five years during the Korean Conflict, achieving the rank of Boatswain's Mate Second Class.
Harold was an active member in the Lions Club in Quinlan, TX, City Council Member in West Tawakoni, TX, Mayor of West Tawakoni, “Man of the Year” through the Chamber of Commerce in West Tawakoni, TX and a Barbershop Quartet member.  He also loved golf and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Curtis and Robert Bedwell; and sisters Elizabeth Patton, Martha Broadnax and L. Frances Wertz.
Survivors include his beloved wife Anne Bedwell of Swarthmore, PA; daughter Patricia Varrella and her husband Joseph of Lansdowne, PA; his son, Dr. Scott Bedwell and his wife Kathryn of Erie, PA; four granddaughters, two step-grandchildren and one great grandchild, and soon to be three.
A memorial service will be held on September 18th, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church of Lansdowne, PA.
