Gloria Virginia Mann, 91, of McKean, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 at Edinboro Manor. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 15, 1926, the daughter of the late Joel Edward and Valda Mae Wardell.
Gloria attended school in Long Branch, New Jersey and Monmouth Junior College. She took a course in Art from 1945 – 1946. She was baptized in the Dutch Reformed Church at Long Branch, she sang in the choir and was a 2nd grade Bible teacher in Sunday School.
Gloria was married on October 1, 1950, in the Dutch Reformed Church to SFC Coley L. Mann, US Army before retiring in 1980 as a M/Sgt. The couple had a daughter, Kathleen Leah who was born in the 97th General Hospital, Frankfurt, Germany, on July 28, 1951.
Gloria was employed at K-Mart for 20 years.
Her hobbies are crafts, painting and needlepoint.
Gloria spent time traveling, spending her honeymoon in Europe, living in Italy, Germany, Scotland, England, Holland and Berlin. She lived in Frankfurt, Germany, with her Army husband for seven years. They traveled all over Europe on tour of duty and vacations.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, James & Edmund Wardell.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Maisner and her fiance, Paul Hanson of Edinboro; 6 grandchildren; Adriane Pitt of FL, Arthur (Kim) Maisner III of Meadville, Adam (Shawna) Maisner of Erie, Zach (Bre) Maisner of Pittsburgh, Josuah Maisner (Liz) of VA, and Dylan (Doreen) Maisner of AK and 12 great-grandchildren; Hank, Avigaile Lilia, Elsa, Rozalyn, Jonas, Axl, Mike, Ryan, Evelyn, Harper, and Sadie.
No services or calling hours will be held. The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
