Glade Wright

Glade E. Wright, 91, of Edinboro passed away peacefully July 27 at the Edinboro Manor. He was born July 5, 1921, the son of the late Ernest and Dorothy (Neeley) Wright.
After graduating from Edinboro H.S. in 1940, he worked 3 years at the Ruberoid in Erie before enlisting in the Merchant Marines where he served in the Mediterranean/Middle East war zone from 1943-1945.  A hard working entrepreneur, Glade, along with his wife, was the proprietor of the Edinboro Beverage Distributor for 44 years while also maintaining Christmas tree farms and a truck leasing business and driving school bus for 25 years. He was a member of the Oasis Lodge #416 F & A.M. and the American Legion Post #439.  A longtime member of the Culbertson Hills Country Club, he was an avid golfer.  He loved playing cards, following local sports, bowling & hunting.  He was one of the original founders of the Edinboro Sportsman Club.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years Donna Marie(Hamilton), 4 children: David Wright and his wife Diane of Fairview, Debbie O’Neill and husband Regis of Edinboro, Patti Rowland of Dallas, TX and Kristen Wright of Arlington, TX., grandchildren Jonathan Wright of Meadville, Kellen O’Neill of Edinboro and Lesley Rowland of Dallas, TX, sisters Gladean Bull and Kay Greene, both of Mesa, AZ and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Virginia Michael & Reatha Sumner, a grandson Tyler Rowland, a niece Kathy Bull Jones and an infant daughter Sharon Lee.
Friends may call at Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend a service there on Tuesday at 11:00.
